Spread, until its 2020 closure, held an annual dinner benefitting the refugee-assisting nonprofit Miry's List. Renowned LA Chefs teamed with recently resettled refugee home cooks from Miry's List New Arrivals Supper Club for a night of dishes remembering homelands left behind. When the pandemic shut those gatherings down, gears switched to maintain the ethos and fundraising. We asked prominent LA chef's to create special spice blends to shine a light on local nonprofits doing great work in the community.
Our first collaboration teamed Chef Ori Menache with Miry's List. Our next kit teams Chef and restaurateur Cristy Vega of Casa Vega with the founders of No Us Without You, a nonprofit supporting hospitality workers displaced by the pandemic.
