  • 2 oz (60 ml) Tequila (Blanco or Reposado)
  • Grapefruit Soda (to top up, approximately 4-6 oz or 120-180 ml)
  • Ice
  • Optional: Salt for rimming the glass, and a lime or grapefruit wedge for garnish


  • Prepare the Glass (Optional): If you prefer a salted rim, start by running a lime wedge around the rim of your glass. Dip the rim in salt, coating it lightly. This step is optional, so feel free to skip it if you prefer.
  • Add Ice: Fill the glass with ice cubes to about three-quarters full.
  • Pour Tequila: Measure 2 oz (60 ml) of tequila and pour it over the ice in the glass.
  • Top with Grapefruit Soda: Slowly pour grapefruit soda over the tequila until the glass is nearly full, leaving some room for the soda to fizz without spilling over.
  • Garnish (Optional): Garnish with a lime or grapefruit wedge on the rim of the glass.
  • Stir Gently: Briefly stir the mixture with a spoon or a straw to mix the tequila and grapefruit soda together.
